Freezers, Refrigerators & Chillers
Freezers, refrigerators and chillers cover the refrigeration equipment that holds product or process fluids at controlled low temperatures, from food-service cabinets to laboratory and medical storage, display merchandisers, packaged liquid chillers and walk-in cold rooms. Buyers in the EU and GCC source these for hospitality and retail, pharmaceutical and clinical storage, food processing, and industrial process cooling. The family is defined by temperature band and duty: chiller cabinets typically hold 0 to +8 C, freezers run -18 C and below, ultra-low and medical units reach -40 to -86 C, and process chillers deliver a controlled coolant temperature to machinery. Refrigerant selection is now a primary specification point for EU import: the F-gas Regulation (EU) 517/2014 phases down high-GWP HFCs, pushing new equipment toward low-GWP options such as R290 (propane, GWP ~3) for self-contained units and R449A or R513A for larger and remote systems, with legacy R134a being designed out. Key parameters are storage volume or cooling capacity (kW), temperature range and stability, climate class, energy class on the EU energy label, and ambient design temperature, which matters for hot GCC conditions. Construction uses insulated panels (PU foam), stainless or coated-steel bodies, hermetic or semi-hermetic compressors, and digital controllers; flammable-refrigerant units follow charge limits in IEC 60335-2-89. Himalay's verified manufacturer partners supply refrigeration equipment with test reports and CoC, CE (LVD, EMC and where applicable the Machinery and Pressure Equipment directives), RoHS/REACH and F-gas-compliant refrigerant documentation, and SABER (Saudi Arabia) coordinated as part of the standard order flow; energy-label data and factory acceptance testing are arranged where specified.
