Antennas and towers cover the radiating elements and structural infrastructure that carry wireless, telecom and satellite communications networks. The branch pairs RF performance with civil and structural engineering: antennas are specified on electromagnetic parameters, while towers, monopoles, shelters and accessories are specified on structural, wind-load and corrosion-protection criteria.
The family spans telecom antennas, RF/wireless antennas, tower structures, monopoles and poles, tower accessories and telecom shelters. Antenna sourcing centres on gain (dBi), frequency band, VSWR (commonly targeted below around 1.5:1), polarisation and cross-polar isolation, beamwidth, and environmental sealing (often IP67 or better). Construction varies by item: antennas use weather-sealed radomes and connectorised feeds; towers and monopoles use structural steel sections (lattice or rolled-plate shafts) with hot-dip galvanised corrosion protection; shelters use galvanised steel, aluminium or FRP/GRP panels with thermal insulation and managed cooling. IP ingress ratings to IEC/EN 60529 apply to enclosures and outdoor electronics.
Configuration options usually include single or multi-band antennas, fixed or adjustable downtilt, self-supporting or guyed towers, a range of heights and base designs, and shelter cooling and access options.
