RF and wireless antennas cover the broad range of radiating elements used outside core cellular base-station service — in fixed wireless access, Wi-Fi and WLAN, ISM-band telemetry, IoT/M2M, point-to-point links, GNSS and satellite reception. Sourcing is driven by RF performance matched to the band and use case, with form factor and durability suited to the deployment environment.
The family includes directional (Yagi, patch, panel) and omnidirectional antennas, dish and grid antennas for point-to-point links, rubber-duck and dipole whips, embedded/PCB antennas and GNSS pucks. Key commercial parameters are gain (dBi), operating frequency band (covering common ISM, Wi-Fi 2.4/5/6 GHz, sub-GHz IoT and microwave link bands), VSWR (often targeted below around 1.5-2:1), polarisation, beamwidth, impedance (typically 50 ohm) and connector type.
Construction varies with form factor: outdoor directional and dish antennas use weather-sealed radomes and corrosion-resistant mounts with ingress protection per IEC/EN 60529, while indoor and embedded antennas prioritise compact footprint and cable/connector options. Cable assemblies, surge/lightning protection and grounding hardware are frequently sourced alongside the antenna. EU placement generally requires CE under the Radio Equipment Directive and EMC, with RoHS/REACH declarations.
Configuration options usually include band and gain selection, indoor/outdoor variants, a choice of connectors and cable lengths, single or multi-band/MIMO arrangements, and mounting kits.
