Bushings products and componentsFrequently Asked Questions
- How do I choose between bronze, sintered and DU/PTFE bushings?
- It comes down to lubrication and PV. Sintered oilite bushes suit light, clean, low-maintenance duty where impregnated oil is enough. DU steel-backed PTFE composites suit dry or marginally lubricated, oscillating and high-load service. Solid bronze suits heavy, shock and greased duty. Share load, speed and lubrication regime and a partner can recommend a family.
- What is the typical minimum order for bushings?
- For standard ISO 3547 or DIN 1494 composite and bronze sizes, MOQs often start in the few-hundred-piece range per size and material, though this varies by manufacturer and configuration. Custom bored or machined bronze bushes can run at smaller quantities. Consolidating sizes into one spec package usually allows smaller per-line quantities. Confirm at inquiry.
- Which certifications and test documents are available?
- Where specified, partners can supply material certificates such as EN 10204 3.1 for the alloy or backing, dimensional inspection reports, hardness data and RoHS or REACH declarations for plating and polymer content. Wall-section and bore reports can be provided for critical fits. Document availability is confirmed per order rather than assumed across all partners.
- What bore fit, wall section and lubrication should I specify?
- Specify the housing and shaft fits so press-fit close-in and running clearance can be set, along with wall thickness, flange dimensions and chamfers. State the lubrication regime so the right liner or solid-lubricant pattern is chosen, and any plating such as tin or copper. Share your drawing or sample so the bore, OD and finish can be matched to your assembly.
- Can bushings be made to an OEM drawing or sample?
- Yes, a subset of partners produce bushings to OEM drawings, samples or reverse-engineered references, including non-standard lengths and special alloys. Some partners supply into automotive or equipment OEM programmes, but specific approvals should not be assumed as blanket facts; share your drawing or spec at inquiry and a suitable partner can be matched.
- What lead times and delivery terms apply to Europe and the GCC?
- Catalogue bronze and composite sizes are relatively quick, while custom alloys or machined specials take longer; treat any figure as indicative until quoted. Full CIF delivery to Rotterdam, Antwerp, Jebel Ali or Dammam can be arranged, with sea freight added to the manufacturing window.
