About Machine & Industrial Bushings
Machine industrial bushings are the plain-bearing sleeves, wear bushes and guide elements used across machine tools, presses, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, construction and material-handling equipment. They provide a renewable, low-friction bearing surface at shafts, pins, pivots and slides, and are often a deliberately replaceable sacrificial wear part that protects the more expensive housing or shaft.
The family spans solid bronze and gunmetal bushes, sintered self-lubricating bushes, steel-backed metal-polymer (DU-type) bushes, drill and jig bushings for tooling, and flanged and thrust forms, generally dimensioned in line with ISO 3547 (with DIN 1494 for wrapped bronze and ISO 2795 for sintered) or to customer drawings. Key specs cover bore/OD tolerances and running fit, wall thickness, length, and load/speed (PV) capability.
Materials are selected by load, speed, lubrication and environment — CuSn8/CuSn12 and leaded bronzes, gunmetal LG2, aluminium bronze, oil-impregnated sintered grades, and PTFE-lined steel backings — with case-hardened steel for drill and jig bushings. Oil grooves, lubrication holes, plugs and finishes are applied per the application, and press-fit interference is set so the part finishes to the right bore after fitting. As a deliberately replaceable wear element, the bushing is sized to fail before the shaft or housing it protects.
Dimensional accuracy, hardness and PV capability are normally agreed against the drawing. Himalay coordinates material traceability and EN 10204 3.1 certificates, dimensional and hardness verification, oil-content or liner reports for self-lubricating types, plus RoHS/REACH declarations where specified, handled as part of the standard order flow.
