Irrigation, Gas & Fire Valves
Irrigation, Gas & Fire Valves
Utility valves for irrigation networks, gas supply lines, and firefighting water systems.Frequently Asked Questions
- These are very different applications β can one supply route cover all three?
- Yes, but usually through different specialist partners rather than one factory. Irrigation valves are a plastics-and-water specialism; gas safety shut-off valves are a regulated combustion-safety specialism under EN 161; fire valves are a fire-protection specialism under BS 5041 / BS 750 with optional UL/FM. Himalay matches each line to a partner qualified in that field. Tell us your application, governing standard or approval, and destination market, and we'll route each item to the right partner under one coordinated order.
- What's the MOQ across irrigation, gas and fire valves?
- It varies sharply by type, since these range from commodity to engineered. For commodity irrigation solenoid/control valves, typical MOQ starts at roughly 100-500 pieces depending on manufacturer. For gas safety shut-off valves, around 50-200 pieces. For fire hydrant landing valves, roughly 25-100 pieces. Mixed orders consolidated in one package usually accept smaller quantities per line item.
- Which approvals β EN 161, BS 5041, UL/FM β are available?
- Where specified and partner-dependent. A subset of partners builds gas valves to EN 161 within the EN 13611 framework, fire landing valves to BS 5041 and hydrants to BS 750, and can pursue UL Listing or FM Approval where a fire project demands it. UL/FM and EN 161 certification scope is specific to particular partners and product ranges, so confirm the exact approval and market at inquiry and we match a qualified partner; test certificates ship with the valves.
- What materials and configurations can be specified?
- Irrigation valves: UV-stabilised glass-reinforced nylon, PVC or brass, with 24 VAC or DC-latching solenoid or hydraulic actuation, in-line or angle bodies. Gas valves: aluminium or brass/steel bodies with fast or slow closing per EN 161 class, single or double solenoid. Fire valves: gunmetal, bronze or ductile iron, oblique/right-angle/horizontal landing-valve patterns with instantaneous or threaded outlets, hydrostatically tested above working pressure.
- Which end-client approvals or schemes do your MSME partners hold?
- A subset of Himalay's partner network holds relevant approvals β irrigation OEM and distributor approvals, gas-appliance certifications, and fire-authority or insurer listings β specific to each product line. Approvals are partner- and scope-specific, so share your AVL, project specification or scheme requirement at inquiry stage and we match a qualified partner; audits can be arranged on a supplier-development track.
- How long do irrigation, gas or fire valve orders take?
- Commodity irrigation and gas valves: typically 4-8 weeks manufacture and test, then freight. Fire landing valves and certified items: 6-10 weeks, longer where third-party approval testing is in scope. CIF to Rotterdam, Antwerp, Jebel Ali or Dammam is typically 8-12 weeks door-to-door for standard items and 14-20 weeks for engineered or specially certified specials.
