Specialty Finishes
Specialty finishes are higher-function textile auxiliaries applied to deliver targeted performance and aesthetic effects beyond standard softening or easy-care, including anti-pilling, anti-static, UV-protection, coolness/thermo-regulating, anti-slip, hydrophilic/wicking, and stiffening or filling effects. They are used in performance apparel, sportswear, fashion, home and technical textiles where a defined functional or hand effect differentiates the finished fabric.
Grades are supplied by effect and are specified by active chemistry, active content (%), application route (exhaust or pad-cure), and the relevant performance test (e.g., UPF rating for UV protection, surface resistivity for antistatic, wicking time for hydrophilic finishes, pill grade for anti-pilling enzymes/polymers). Buyers in the EU and GCC commonly require OEKO-TEX/ZDHC-aligned, APEO-free, and low-formaldehyde grades. Many specialty finishes are combined in a single bath, so compatibility with softeners, repellents, and resins is a key selection parameter.
Forms are liquid dispersions, emulsions, or solutions, with some enzyme and powder concentrates. Packaging is typically 25-200 kg HDPE drums/carboys, 1000 L IBCs for bulk, with FCL consignments standard for EU and GCC importers.
For EU buyers, REACH registration is confirmed and an Only Representative pathway coordinated where required; CLP labelling, SDS, and eco-documentation accompany shipments, and SABER/SASO is arranged for Saudi Arabia. Himalay's verified manufacturer/exporter partners supply specialty finishes with CoA per batch (active content, pH, function spec), SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
