SBS Resins
SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) resins are styrenic block copolymer thermoplastic elastomers supplied as pellets, crumb, or porous bales. They are used as the elastomeric base for footwear soles, hot-melt and pressure-sensitive adhesives and sealants, bitumen and asphalt modification for roofing membranes and road paving, polymer modification, and soft-touch compounds. SBS combines processability with high tensile strength and elastic recovery, and dissolves readily for solution-based adhesive systems.
Grades are framed by styrene-to-butadiene ratio (which governs hardness and stiffness), molecular structure (linear vs radial/branched), melt flow index (ASTM D1238 / ISO 1133), and whether the grade is oil-extended or dry. Application families differentiate further: compounding grades, adhesive grades (higher tack and flow), and bitumen-modification grades (for elastic recovery and softening-point lift). Buyers specify Shore hardness, tensile and elongation, solution viscosity for adhesive use, and volatile/ash content.
Packaging is generally 25 kg bags, bales, or FIBC. SBS can be prone to oxidation and blocking, so storage and stabiliser parameters are provided as specification notes on the technical data sheet rather than handling instructions.
For EU import, REACH framing, CLP/GHS labelling, and SDS are coordinated where required; SABER/SASO routing is arranged for Saudi Arabia. HS code is provided on documentation.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply SBS resins with CoA per batch (styrene ratio, MFI/viscosity), SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
