Protective finishes are functional textile auxiliaries that give fabrics defensive performance against water, oil, soil, fire, and microbial growth. They are widely used in workwear, outdoor and technical apparel, home textiles, automotive and contract fabrics, and protective and medical textiles, where the finish must deliver and retain a measurable functional property through use and laundering.

Grades are supplied by function: water- and oil-repellent finishes (increasingly C6 short-chain fluorocarbon and fluorine-free/dendrimer or silicone-based systems in response to PFAS restrictions); flame-retardant finishes (phosphorus-nitrogen and other non-halogen chemistries) meeting relevant fire standards; and antimicrobial finishes for odour and hygiene control. Products are specified by active content (%), application route (pad-dry-cure), durability to wash cycles, and the target test method (e.g., spray rating, oil-repellency grade, vertical flammability). EU and GCC buyers commonly require PFAS-compliant and OEKO-TEX/bluesign-aligned options.

Forms are liquid dispersions and emulsions, with companion catalysts/crosslinkers where needed. Packaging is typically 50-200 kg HDPE drums, 1000 L IBCs, or 25 kg carboys, with FCL consignments standard for EU and GCC importers.

For EU buyers, REACH registration is confirmed and an Only Representative pathway coordinated where required; CLP labelling, SDS, and eco/PFAS-status declarations accompany shipments, and SABER/SASO is arranged for Saudi Arabia. Himalay's verified manufacturer/exporter partners supply protective finishes with CoA per batch (active content, pH, function spec), SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
