About Print Paste Additives
Print paste additives are the auxiliary chemicals blended into textile printing pastes to control rheology, fixation, hand-feel and print definition across pigment, reactive, disperse and other printing systems. Typical end uses include rotary and flat-screen printing and digital pre/post-treatment in textile printing houses. Buyers choose them to achieve sharp prints, good fastness and a soft handle on the finished fabric.
Products include thickeners (synthetic acrylic thickeners and natural alginate/guar-based thickeners), pigment-print binders and fixers, emulsifiers, anti-foaming agents (silicone and non-silicone), urea-replacement and humectant agents, pH buffers, hand-feel softeners and fixation accelerators. They are specified by function, active content, ionic character, viscosity build, electrolyte tolerance and compatibility with the print system. Alginate thickeners suit reactive printing; acrylic thickeners and binders suit pigment printing. Forms are mostly liquids and some powders.
