POM Resin
POM (polyoxymethylene, polyacetal) is a highly crystalline engineering thermoplastic offering high stiffness, low friction, excellent dimensional stability, fatigue endurance, and good chemical resistance. It is the precision-part resin of choice for gears, bearings, bushes, cams, fasteners, zippers, conveyor and pump components, and automotive fuel and mechanical parts, where tight tolerances and wear resistance are critical.
Grades are specified by polymer type (homopolymer for slightly higher stiffness and heat performance, copolymer for better thermal-oxidative and hydrolytic stability), melt-flow rate (MFR per ISO 1133 at 190 C/2.16 kg), and modification, with standard, low-friction (PTFE/silicone-modified), glass-filled, impact-modified, and UV-stabilised grades offered. Buyers specify MFR for the moulding process and any low-wear or tribological requirement. As a processing spec note, POM requires controlled melt temperature to avoid formaldehyde evolution and is typically lightly pre-dried. Food-contact-suitable grades carry EU 10/2011 declarations where required.
Forms are virgin granules (natural/white or pre-coloured). Packaging is typically 25 kg bags palletised, 500-1000 kg FIBC/jumbo bags, or octabins, with FCL consignments standard for EU and GCC importers.
For EU buyers, REACH registration is confirmed and an Only Representative pathway coordinated where required; CLP labelling and SDS accompany shipments, and SABER/SASO is arranged for Saudi Arabia. Himalay's verified manufacturer/exporter partners supply POM with CoA per batch (MFR, type, where applicable filler/modification), SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
