PBAT Resins
PBAT (polybutylene adipate terephthalate) resin is a flexible, biodegradable and compostable copolyester supplied as pellets. Because it is tough and ductile where PLA is rigid and brittle, PBAT is most often used as a blend partner with PLA or starch to make compostable carrier bags, mulch films, cling and shrink films, lamination layers, and flexible packaging that needs film toughness with industrial compostability.
Grades are framed by application (film blowing, blends, or compounding), melt flow index (ASTM D1238 / ISO 1133), density, and mechanical properties such as elongation at break and tensile strength. Buyers commonly require conformity to EN 13432 or ASTM D6400 for compostable claims, which call for at least 90% biodegradation under industrial composting within 180 days, disintegration within 12 weeks, and heavy-metal/eco-toxicity limits. Food-contact suitability is documented against EU 10/2011 and FDA framing where the application requires it.
Packaging is generally moisture-protective 25 kg bags or FIBC; recommended pre-drying and storage parameters appear as specification notes on the technical data sheet rather than handling instructions.
For EU import, REACH framing, food-contact declarations, EN 13432 compostability certification routing, and SDS are coordinated where required; SABER/SASO routing is arranged for Saudi Arabia. HS code is provided on documentation.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply PBAT resins with CoA per batch, SDS, food-contact and EN 13432 compostability documentation coordinated where required, REACH framing for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
