High Density Polyethylene
High density polyethylene (HDPE) is a linear, highly crystalline polyolefin offering high stiffness, tensile strength, and chemical resistance. It is the principal resin for blow-moulded bottles and containers, injection-moulded caps, crates and housewares, pressure and non-pressure pipe, and HMHDPE film for carrier bags and liners.
Grades are specified by melt-flow index (MFI/MFR per ISO 1133, commonly 0.1-3 g/10 min for blow moulding and pipe, higher for injection) and density (typically 0.941-0.965 g/cm3). Blow-moulding grades favour low MFI (around 0.2-0.7 g/10 min) for melt strength and parison stability; injection grades run higher MFI for flow; PE100/PE80 pipe grades are pressure-classified to ISO 4427. Buyers also specify additive packages for slip, antistatic, UV stabilisation, and organoleptic performance. Food-contact-suitable grades carry EU 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 declarations where required.
Forms are virgin granules; PCR/recycled HDPE is offered separately where circular-content specifications apply, and EFSA-assessed recycling routes underpin food-contact recyclate claims. Packaging is typically 25 kg PE bags palletised, 500-1250 kg FIBC/jumbo bags, or octabins for bulk processing lines, with FCL consignments standard for EU and GCC buyers.
For EU buyers, REACH registration is confirmed and an Only Representative pathway coordinated where required; CLP labelling and SDS accompany shipments, and SABER/SASO is arranged for Saudi Arabia. Himalay's verified manufacturer/exporter partners supply HDPE with CoA per batch (MFI, density, where applicable pressure class), SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
