Effect Pigments
Effect pigments are lustre and special-effect colorants that produce metallic, pearlescent or colour-shifting appearances through light reflection and interference rather than absorption alone. Typical end uses include automotive and industrial coatings, cosmetics and personal care, plastics and masterbatch, printing inks, and packaging and decorative applications. Buyers choose them for premium visual effects — sparkle, pearl, lustre and angle-dependent colour travel — that standard pigments cannot deliver.
Products are organised into metallic-effect pigments (aluminium, bronze) and pearlescent or interference pigments based on mica, synthetic mica, borosilicate or alumina-flake substrates coated with thin metal-oxide layers (typically titanium or iron oxide). Grade parameters include particle-size distribution (which controls sparkle versus smooth lustre), colour and interference shade, substrate type, and surface treatment for the application medium. Cosmetic-grade and coatings-grade variants are distinguished. The buyer's appearance and medium spec governs selection; HS code is provided on documentation.
Packaging is offered as 20-25 kg bags, fibre drums and pails, with smaller cosmetic-grade packs available; samples and drawdowns support effect approval.
Compliance support typically covers REACH registration or Only Representative coverage for EU, CLP/GHS classification and SDS, and cosmetic-regulation alignment for personal-care grades where applicable. SABER/SASO is coordinated for Saudi Arabia where required.
