About Customized Gear Assemblies
Customized gear assemblies are application-engineered drives built around a specific machine duty rather than a fixed catalogue frame — pump drives, winch and slew drives, and agitator or mixer drives in which the gearing, bearings, shafting and mounting are tailored to the loads and interfaces of the host equipment. Power is transmitted through helical, bevel-helical or planetary trains selected so the assembly carries not only torque but the radial, axial, moment and overhung loads the application imposes, which a standard gearmotor is not arranged to take.
Variants cover vertical and right-angle pump-gearbox heads, planetary winch and slew drives for cranes and solar trackers, and agitator/mixer drives rated per AGMA 6001 for the combined torque, bending and thrust of an extended stirrer shaft. Ratios commonly span 3:1 to 90:1 (higher in compound planetary), torque from a few hundred Nm to well over 100,000 Nm, and efficiency near 96-98% for helical and a few points lower for high-ratio planetary. Rating follows AGMA 2001/2101 and ISO 6336, with gear quality to ISO 1328 / AGMA 2015 and drive practice to AGMA 6010/6013.
Construction uses case-hardened, ground alloy steel gears (18CrNiMo7-6 / 20MnCr5) in cast-iron or fabricated housings, with bearing systems sized for the application's external loads, reinforced output shafts, and seals or weatherproofing (IP66) for outdoor slew and tracker duty.
Integration is the point of these units: motor or hydraulic input, integral thrust bearing for agitators, flange or torque-tube mounting, output flanges or pinions matched to a slew ring, and synthetic PAO ISO VG 220/320 lubrication chosen for duty, with service factor set to the application's shock and run profile.
