ABS Resin
ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) is an amorphous styrenic engineering thermoplastic combining the rigidity and processability of styrene-acrylonitrile with the toughness imparted by a butadiene rubber phase. It offers a strong balance of impact strength, surface finish, and dimensional stability, and is widely used for appliance and electronics housings, automotive interior and exterior trim, toys, pipes and fittings, luggage, and 3D-printing filament.
Grades are specified by melt-flow rate (MFR per ISO 1133 at 220 C/10 kg), impact level, and heat resistance, with high-impact, high-heat, high-gloss, plating, flame-retardant (UL94), and extrusion grades offered. Buyers also specify electroplatable, UV-stabilised, and antistatic variants for the end-use, with high-heat grades raising service temperature for automotive interiors and high-gloss grades improving surface aesthetics. As a processing spec note, ABS is mildly hygroscopic and is typically pre-dried before moulding to avoid splay and surface defects. Food-contact-suitable grades carry EU 10/2011 declarations where required.
Forms are virgin granules (natural/off-white or pre-coloured); PCR/recycled ABS is offered separately where circular content is specified. Packaging is typically 25 kg bags palletised, 500-1000 kg FIBC/jumbo bags, or octabins, with FCL consignments standard for EU and GCC importers.
For EU buyers, REACH registration is confirmed and an Only Representative pathway coordinated where required; CLP labelling and SDS accompany shipments, and SABER/SASO is arranged for Saudi Arabia. Himalay's verified manufacturer/exporter partners supply ABS with CoA per batch (MFR, impact, where applicable UL rating), SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
