    About Y-Strainer Valves

Y-strainers across 196 listed configurations — DN15 to DN300, ASME 150 to 600 and PN16, in carbon steel, stainless and cast iron with SS304 or SS316 screens. Submit an RFQ.

A Y strainer (Y-strainer) is a passive pipeline fitting, not an operated valve — a Y-shaped body holds a removable perforated or wire-mesh screen at an angle to the flow, catching debris before it reaches downstream pumps, control valves and instruments. There is nothing to actuate: the screen is removed periodically for cleaning, and that is the entire maintenance requirement. Himalay lists Y-strainers in a single Y-type configuration, spanning DN15 to DN300 across 196 configurations, in ASME 150, 300, 600 and PN16. Bodies are carbon steel (A216 WCB), SS316 (CF8M) and cast iron, cast construction. Screens are SS304 or SS316. End connections are flanged or threaded. Design and pressure-temperature ratings follow ASME B16.34. A Y-strainer is specified by screen perforation size against the debris you need to catch and by the pressure drop your system can tolerate, not by pipe size alone — state both, along with medium and working pressure, in your enquiry.
