Waxes
Waxes are solid petroleum-derived hydrocarbons used in candles, packaging, coatings, rubber, cosmetics, adhesives and a wide range of industrial applications. The category covers paraffin waxes (fully refined, semi-refined and slack wax) and microcrystalline waxes, distinguished by crystal structure, melting point and oil content. For EU and GCC buyers, waxes are bought as defined grades against melting point, oil content and refinement level.
Grades are defined by refinement and physical properties. Fully refined paraffin wax contains under 0.5% oil (up to about 0.8% for high-melting grades), is hydro- or clay-treated to be water-clear and odour-free, and commonly meets food-grade standards; semi-refined paraffin wax contains roughly 0.5-1.5% oil for candle, coating and waterproofing use; slack wax is the higher-oil unrefined stock. Paraffin melting points typically run about 49-71 C, while microcrystalline waxes have more branched chains, higher melting points (roughly 60-88 C), higher viscosity and greater flexibility. Key parameters include congealing/melting point, oil content, penetration, colour and viscosity. HS codes are provided on documentation.
Waxes ship as slabs, granules or pastilles in 25/50 kg cartons and bags, on pallets or in bulk. They are generally not classed as dangerous goods.
Compliance typically includes SDS provision, CLP/GHS labelling where applicable, REACH registration or Only Representative routing for EU entry, SABER/SASO registration for Saudi Arabia, and food-contact documentation for food-grade wax, coordinated where required.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply waxes with CoA per batch, SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
