Water Based Solvents
Water based solvents are aqueous solvent systems and water-miscible glycol ethers, alcohols and dilution media used where low-VOC, low-odour or non-flammable carriers are required. Typical end uses include water-borne coatings and inks, cleaning and degreasing formulations, textile and leather processing baths, and as coupling or dilution media in agrochemical and cosmetic intermediates. Buyers usually move to water based systems to meet EU VOC-emission limits and workplace-exposure targets rather than for cost.
Grades are normally specified by assay or active content, water content (Karl Fischer), pH, density and residual-impurity profile, with technical grade for industrial cleaning and coatings and higher-purity reagent or low-metals grades for sensitive electronic or pharmaceutical-adjacent use. Common members include propylene-glycol-based and glycol-ether-based water-miscible solvents; the exact composition is specified to the buyer's datasheet. HS code is provided on documentation.
Packaging is offered as 25 kg jerrycans, 200-220 kg HDPE or lined steel drums, 1000 L IBCs and bulk ISO tanks for high-volume programmes. Non-flammable aqueous blends simplify storage versus solvent-borne equivalents.
Compliance support typically covers REACH registration or Only Representative coverage for EU import, CLP/GHS classification and labelling, and SDS in the buyer's language; SABER/SASO is coordinated for Saudi Arabia where required. Transport classification is generally non-regulated for fully aqueous blends, confirmed per formulation.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply water based solvents with CoA per batch, SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
