Vegetable Oil Feedstocks
Vegetable oil feedstocks are plant-derived oils and waste lipid streams used as raw material for biodiesel, renewable diesel, oleochemicals and industrial processing. The category covers crude and refined vegetable oils (such as palm, soybean, rapeseed and castor for industrial use), used cooking oil (UCO), and processing by-products like palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) and acid oils. For EU and GCC buyers, these are bought as biofuel and oleochemical feedstocks defined by free fatty acid content, moisture and sustainability status.
Grades are defined by quality parameters relevant to downstream conversion. Key specs include free fatty acid (FFA) content, moisture and impurities (MIU), iodine value, saponification value, colour and, for waste streams, total contamination. Used cooking oil is specified by FFA, moisture and total polar matter; PFAD by FFA and moisture. Sustainability and traceability are central for EU biofuel use, where waste and residue feedstocks attract preferential treatment under the Renewable Energy Directive. HS codes are provided on documentation.
Vegetable oil feedstocks ship in ISO tanks, flexitanks, drums (200-210 L) and IBCs; solids and semi-solids may ship in bulk or bags. Most are not classed as dangerous goods.
Compliance typically includes SDS provision where applicable, REACH consideration for processed oleochemical streams, SABER/SASO registration for Saudi Arabia, and sustainability certification (for example ISCC) for biofuel feedstock use, coordinated where required.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply vegetable oil feedstocks with CoA per batch, SDS where applicable, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
