About Threaded Turned Components
Threaded turned components are precision-machined parts that carry internal or external threads as a primary functional feature, produced by single-point turning, thread-rolling, tapping, or thread-milling on CNC and Swiss lathes. They include studs, threaded inserts, adaptors, nipples, glands, connectors, bushes, and special fasteners used in fluid, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical assemblies where a controlled, repeatable thread fit is essential.
Threads are produced to ISO metric (ISO 261/965 tolerance classes such as 6g/6H), unified (UN/UNF/UNC), BSP/BSPT (ISO 228 / EN 10226), NPT/NPTF (ANSI/ASME B1.20.1), and BA forms as specified. General dimensional tolerances follow ISO 2768 medium or fine, with thread classes verified by go/no-go gauging. Thread surface and runout are controlled where sealing or fatigue performance matters; quality systems often align with IATF 16949 or ISO 9001.
Materials include free-cutting and alloy steels, stainless 303/304/316, brass CW617N/CZ121, and aluminium. Coatings and treatments include zinc and zinc-nickel plating, hot-dip galvanising for larger parts, PTFE/Xylan for anti-galling, passivation, and electroless nickel. Thread-rolling can be used to improve fatigue strength on highly loaded parts.
Configuration covers tapered and parallel threads, thread sealants, captive and self-locking features, left-hand threads, and assembly with O-rings or bonded seals; secondary operations such as cross-drilling, slotting, and broaching are common.
Himalay coordinates material traceability via EN 10204 3.1 certificates where requested, thread-gauge inspection records, full dimensional reports, and RoHS/REACH declarations, with PED/CE documentation support where the component enters pressure equipment, all coordinated as part of the standard order flow so parts integrate cleanly into your assembly.
