Sulfoxide Solvents
Sulfoxide solvents are polar aprotic solvents dominated by dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), valued for high solvency, high boiling point, water miscibility, and a comparatively low toxicity profile. Buyers source DMSO for pharmaceutical and API synthesis, cryopreservation and biotech media, agrochemical formulation, electronics and polymer processing, and as a reaction and cleaning solvent. Its broad dissolving power combined with a favourable safety profile makes it a preferred alternative to reprotoxic amide solvents in many applications.
Grades commonly offered include technical/industrial, high-purity/electronic, and pharma/USP-EP grade. CoA parameters usually quoted include assay by GC, water content (Karl Fischer), color (APHA), refractive index, acidity, and trace-metal limits for electronic grades; pharma grades meet pharmacopoeial identity and impurity limits. HS classification is provided on shipping documentation.
Packaging is offered in around 250 kg steel drums, ~1000-1300 kg IBCs, and ISO tanks for bulk; smaller packs serve high-purity and pharma grades. DMSO is hygroscopic, so packaging integrity is a quoted spec consideration. Bulk versus packed selection follows volume and grade.
SDS, CLP/GHS labelling, and any applicable transport documentation are coordinated where required, and REACH registration is addressed via the manufacturer or an Only Representative for EU import. SABER/SASO is handled for Saudi Arabia where applicable.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply sulfoxide solvents with CoA per batch, SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
