About Stamping Components
Stamping components are sheet-metal parts mass-produced on mechanical or hydraulic presses using dies that blank, pierce, form, bend, coin or draw the material in one or more stations, making the process ideal for high-volume parts at low piece cost. Typical variants include progressive-die stampings, transfer-die and compound-die parts, fine-blanked components with near-net sheared edges, and deep-formed brackets, clips, terminals, washers and contacts. General dimensional tolerances are usually specified to ISO 2768 (medium or fine for tight parts), with fine-blanked features held to tighter limits; high-volume automotive supply is commonly run under an IATF 16949 quality system with PPAP documentation. Materials generally span cold-rolled mild steel, high-strength low-alloy and spring steels, stainless 301/304/316, electrical steel, and copper, brass and aluminium alloys for electrical and decorative parts, in gauges typically from around 0.1 to 4 mm. Strip width, grain direction, minimum web and the number of die stations are engineered to balance material utilisation against tool life and part quality. Finishes include zinc and zinc-nickel plating, tin or silver plating for contacts, passivation, phosphating, and powder or e-coat. Verification usually covers first-article and SPC dimensional control, burr and edge-condition checks, and PPAP or ISIR submissions where required. Through Himalay, partner manufacturers can supply EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates where specified, first-article, SPC and PPAP documentation, plating-thickness and RoHS/REACH records, and CE marking and SABER conformity routes for EU and GCC import; tooling, certification, inspection and CIF logistics are coordinated as part of the standard order flow.
