About Specialty & Precision Bolts
Specialty and precision bolts are close-tolerance fasteners made to tighter dimensional, positional or functional requirements than standard catalogue bolts, used where fit, location or a special feature is critical. They appear in machine tools, jigs and fixtures, hydraulic and instrumentation assemblies, dies and high-precision equipment. The category covers fitted (body-fit / reamer) bolts that locate parts to a precise hole, shoulder bolts with a ground, dimensionally controlled shoulder for pivots and bearings, dowel-style locating bolts, fine-thread and microbolts, and bolts with special drilled, slotted or extended features. Dimensional and thread standards follow ISO and DIN forms (for example DIN 609/610 fitted bolts and ISO/DIN shoulder-screw profiles), with thread fits to 6g/6H or tighter and ground shanks held to close diameter tolerances and surface finish. Strength typically follows ISO 898-1 class 8.8, 10.9 or 12.9, or alloy grades selected for the duty, since precision and material are chosen together. Materials include heat-treated alloy steels, stainless A2/A4 and, for special service, tool steels or high-temperature alloys. Coatings are chosen to preserve tolerance: thin zinc-flake, black oxide, passivation for stainless and Xylan where friction control matters. Inspection emphasises CMM or gauge verification of critical dimensions and surface finish. Himalay coordinates material traceability with EN 10204 3.1 (and 3.2 where required) certificates, dimensional inspection reports against the drawing, hardness and PMI where relevant and surface-finish data; first-article inspection, RoHS declarations and SABER routing for GCC entry are coordinated as part of the standard order flow.
