About Roofing & Exterior Nails
Roofing and exterior nails are corrosion-resistant fasteners with a large flat head, used to secure roofing felt, shingles, sheet metal, cladding, fencing, and other weather-exposed assemblies. The defining features are a broad head that holds membranes and sheets without tearing, and a finish able to survive years of moisture, so corrosion protection and head geometry dominate the specification. Common variants include smooth, ring (annular) and screw shanks for higher withdrawal resistance, plain and umbrella (capped) heads, and nails supplied with neoprene or EPDM sealing washers for metal roofing. Finishes range from electro-galvanised for sheltered use to hot-dip galvanised for general exterior duty, with stainless steel (304/316) and occasionally copper or aluminium for coastal, marine or long-life roofs. Materials are typically low-carbon steel for galvanised types and austenitic stainless for the most demanding exposure; sealing washers are bonded or loose-fitted depending on the roofing system. Configuration covers length, wire diameter, head diameter and shape, shank pattern, washer type, and finish, with coating thickness and salt-spray performance frequently specified for exterior service. Because roofing fixings are a known leak and pull-out risk, partners commonly control galvanising weight and run corrosion testing. Many of these are also offered collated for coil and strip nail guns used in roofing and siding work. Through Himalay, roofing and exterior nails from verified Indian manufacturers can be supplied with material and coating documentation, salt-spray and dimensional reports where specified, and RoHS/REACH declarations where relevant, with packaging and CE/import documentation coordinated as part of the standard order flow.
