Propylene Glycol Solvents
Propylene glycol (mono-propylene glycol, MPG) is a low-toxicity diol used as a humectant, solvent, heat-transfer fluid, and intermediate. Buyers source it for food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic formulations, low-toxicity antifreeze and HVAC fluids, unsaturated polyester resins, and as a carrier and solvent. Its favourable toxicity profile makes it the preferred glycol for food-adjacent and environmentally sensitive applications.
Grades commonly offered include USP/EP food and pharma grade and industrial/technical grade. CoA parameters usually quoted include assay by GC, water content, dipropylene glycol content, color (APHA), acidity, and specific gravity; pharma grades meet pharmacopoeial limits on identity, residue, and impurities. HS classification is provided on shipping documentation. Food, pharma, and e-liquid buyers commonly require the pharmacopoeial monograph reference and dipropylene glycol limit stated explicitly in the spec.
Packaging is offered in around 215-220 kg drums, ~1000-1250 kg IBCs, and ISO tanks or flexibags for bulk; smaller packs serve specialty pharma needs. Bulk versus packed selection follows volume and grade, and food-pharma buyers often prefer drums or IBCs with tamper-evident, food-contact-compliant liners.
Propylene glycol is generally not classified as a flammable-liquid transport hazard and is often not regulated for transport; SDS, CLP/GHS labelling, and any applicable documentation are coordinated where required, and REACH registration is addressed via the manufacturer or an Only Representative for EU import. SABER/SASO is handled for Saudi Arabia where applicable.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply propylene glycol with CoA per batch, SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
