About Precision Turned Parts
Precision turned parts are high-accuracy machined components where tight diameters, fine surface finish, concentricity and repeatability are critical, typically small-to-medium parts for hydraulics, medical, aerospace-support, instrumentation, connectors and fluid systems. They are produced on Swiss-type and multi-axis turning centres with live tooling, sub-spindles and bar-feed for unattended running, enabling complex features in a single setup at micron-level control. General tolerances are usually specified to ISO 2768 fine, with critical diameters toleranced individually and capable production tolerances often around plus or minus 0.005-0.02 mm depending on size and feature; concentricity, runout and form are controlled to drawing GD&T. Series work commonly runs under IATF 16949 with PPAP, and medical or aerospace-support work to the relevant customer quality requirements. Materials generally span free-cutting and alloy steels, stainless 303/304/316 and 17-4PH, free-cutting brass (CuZn39Pb3), aluminium, titanium, and engineering plastics such as PEEK and PTFE. Surface finish is controlled to a specified Ra, often achievable down to around Ra 0.2-0.8 micrometre with finishing passes. Finishes include passivation, anodising, plating and chemical blackening. Verification usually covers first-article, in-process SPC and CMM or optical inspection with finish measurement. Through Himalay, partner manufacturers can supply EN 10204 3.1 material certificates where specified, first-article, SPC and CMM reports, surface-finish (Ra) and plating records, RoHS/REACH declarations, and CE and SABER conformity routes for EU and GCC import; certification, inspection and CIF logistics are coordinated as part of the standard order flow.
