Polar Solvents
Polar solvents are organic liquids with significant molecular polarity — alcohols, ketones, esters, glycols and aprotic solvents such as acetone, isopropanol, ethyl acetate, DMF, DMSO and acetonitrile — used as reaction media, extraction and cleaning fluids, coatings carriers, and mobile phases for laboratory chromatography. Buyers in pharmaceuticals, coatings, electronics, printing and analytical laboratories select them by polarity, water content, UV transparency and residue, because these properties drive solubility, drying behaviour and analytical baseline.
Grades span technical/commercial, laboratory reagent and analytical reagent (AR/ACS), through to HPLC, GC and spectroscopy grades for instrument work. Spec sheets commonly cover assay/purity by GC, water (Karl Fischer), residue on evaporation, acidity/alkalinity, colour (APG/Pt-Co) and, for chromatography grades, UV cut-off and gradient suitability. Industrial grades for common solvents such as acetone are often referenced against ASTM specifications (for example ASTM D329 for acetone) covering distillation range, assay and non-volatile matter. CAS and HS details are provided on documentation rather than assumed here.
Forms include 2.5 L and smaller reagent bottles, 200–210 L steel or HDPE drums, 1000 L IBCs and ISO tanks for bulk; many polar solvents are flammable and packed accordingly.
For EU import, REACH registration or an Only Representative pathway is coordinated where required, with CLP/GHS labelling and SDS supplied; flammable grades are assigned ADR/IMDG classes and UN numbers. SABER/SASO is coordinated for Saudi Arabia.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply polar solvents with CoA per batch, SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
