Manure Based Fertilizers
Manure-based fertilizers are organic products derived from animal sources, including processed farmyard manure, poultry manure, and vermicompost, supplying organic matter alongside a balance of macro- and micronutrients. They are sourced by EU and GCC buyers serving organic, soil-health, and horticulture programmes that prioritise organic carbon and slow nutrient release.
The principal Indian-origin products are dried and granulated poultry manure, composted farmyard manure, and vermicompost. Under the Fertiliser (Control) Order organic-fertilizer schedule, grades are typically specified by organic carbon (often a minimum around 16-20% depending on the product type), total NPK on a dry basis, moisture, pH, C:N ratio, and limits on heavy metals and pathogens. Granulated and pelletised forms are distinguished for easier handling, dust control, and mechanical spreading, with sieve and bulk-density figures stated on the specification, while loose composted grades remain available where buyers prefer them.
Packaging is generally 25 kg or 50 kg bags and FIBC jumbo bags for granular and pelletised grades, with moisture-barrier liners common for sea freight.
For the EU, animal by-product-derived fertilizers are subject to Regulation (EC) 1069/2009 processing and the component-material requirements of Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, including pathogen and contaminant limits, coordinated where required, with SDS, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi consignments. Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply manure-based fertilizers with CoA per batch, SDS, EU fertilising-product and CLP compliance coordinated for Europe, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
