Industrial Plugs & Sockets
Industrial plugs and sockets are the pin-and-sleeve connectors used to couple portable and fixed three-phase and single-phase equipment to power in factories, construction sites, ports, events and process plants. Buyers in the EU and GCC source them for machinery, distribution boards, generators, marine and outdoor service where domestic accessories would be unsafe. The dominant standard is IEC 60309 (formerly CEE 17), which defines connector dimensions, current ratings, keying and colour coding by voltage band, blue for 200-250 V, red for 380-480 V three-phase, and yellow for 100-130 V, so connectors of different voltages cannot be mismated. The family includes plugs, connectors (in-line couplers), panel-mounted and surface socket-outlets, interlocked switched sockets, and combination units with integral MCB or RCD protection.
