Glycol Ether Solvents
Glycol ethers are a family of coupling solvents combining ether and alcohol functionality, available in E-series (ethylene-glycol based) and P-series (propylene-glycol based) such as butyl glycol (EGBE), methyl glycol, PM (PGME), and PMA (PGMEA). Buyers source them for waterborne and solvent-borne coatings, printing inks, cleaners and surface treatments, brake fluids, and as coupling and coalescing agents. Their dual solubility makes them valued for blending water- and oil-soluble components.
Grades commonly offered include technical/industrial and high-purity (electronic/coating) grades. CoA parameters usually quoted include assay by GC, water content (Karl Fischer), acidity, color (APHA), and non-volatile residue. Several E-series glycol ethers (notably certain methyl glycol ethers) carry reprotoxic CLP classifications and may be restricted, so the specific ether and end use must be confirmed; P-series grades generally have a more favourable profile. HS classification is provided on shipping documentation.
Packaging is offered in around 180-200 kg drums, ~1000 kg IBCs, and ISO tanks for bulk; smaller packs serve high-purity grades. Bulk versus packed selection follows volume and grade.
SDS, CLP/GHS labelling, and ADR/IMDG documentation are coordinated where required, with REACH registration and restriction checks addressed via the manufacturer or an Only Representative for EU import. SABER/SASO is handled for Saudi Arabia where applicable.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply glycol ethers with CoA per batch, SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
