Collated pneumatic nails are nails joined into strips or coils so they can be fed automatically by air-powered nail guns, used in framing, sheathing, pallet and crate assembly, roofing, siding, flooring, and fencing at production speed. The collation — the way nails are held together and the angle at which they sit — is what makes them tool-specific, so matching the magazine, angle and collation medium is as important as the nail itself. Common variants include wire-collated and plastic-collated coil nails (frequently at a 15-degree feed angle for coil tools), and paper-tape, plastic-strip and wire-weld stick nails at angles such as 21, 28, 30, 33 or 34 degrees for strip framing guns.
