About CNC Turned Components
CNC turned components are rotationally symmetric parts machined on CNC lathes and turning centres, where the workpiece rotates against fixed or driven tooling to produce shafts, pins, bushes, fittings, connectors, spacers and threaded parts to repeatable tolerances. Multi-axis lathes with live tooling, sub-spindles and bar-feeders (including Swiss-type machines for small slender parts) allow turning, milling, drilling and threading in one setup, suiting both low and high volumes. General dimensional tolerances are usually specified to ISO 2768 (medium or fine), with critical diameters toleranced individually and capable production tolerances often around plus or minus 0.01-0.05 mm depending on size and feature; series automotive work commonly runs under an IATF 16949 system with PPAP. Materials generally span free-cutting and alloy steels, stainless 303/304/316, free-cutting brass (CuZn39Pb3 / CZ121), aluminium 6061/2011, copper and engineering plastics. Surface finish is typically controlled to a specified Ra, with turned finishes often achievable around Ra 0.4-1.6 micrometre and finer with finishing passes; feed rate, nose radius and tooling sharpness drive the result. Finishes include passivation, anodising, zinc and nickel plating, and chemical blackening. Verification usually covers first-article, in-process SPC and CMM or optical inspection. Through Himalay, partner manufacturers can supply EN 10204 3.1 material certificates where specified, first-article, SPC and CMM dimensional reports, surface-finish (Ra) and plating records, RoHS/REACH declarations, and CE and SABER conformity routes for EU and GCC import; certification, inspection and CIF logistics are coordinated as part of the standard order flow.
