Chlorinated Solvents
Chlorinated solvents are a family of chlorine-containing hydrocarbons such as methylene chloride (dichloromethane), perchloroethylene (tetrachloroethylene), trichloroethylene, and 1,1,1-trichloroethane substitutes, valued for strong solvency and, in most cases, low flammability. Buyers source them for metal degreasing and vapour cleaning, paint stripping, dry cleaning, adhesives, pharmaceutical extraction, and as process and reaction solvents. Their non-flammable handling profile makes them useful where flammable hydrocarbons are unsuitable.
Grades commonly offered include technical/industrial, stabilised grades (with inhibitor packages), and high-purity/pharma grades. CoA parameters usually quoted include assay by GC, water content, acidity/alkalinity, stabiliser content, non-volatile residue, and color. Several chlorinated solvents are CMR-classified or restricted under REACH (for example methylene chloride and trichloroethylene), so end-use eligibility and authorisation status must be confirmed. HS classification is provided on shipping documentation, and buyers of stabilised grades typically specify the inhibitor type and acceptance test (acid acceptance) in the purchase order.
Packaging is offered in steel drums, IBCs, and ISO tanks for bulk; smaller packs serve high-purity grades. Bulk versus packed selection follows volume, destination, and regulatory eligibility, with restricted members often handled in packed quantities under documented end-use control.
SDS, CLP/GHS labelling, and ADR/IMDG documentation are coordinated where required, with REACH registration and restriction/authorisation checks addressed via the manufacturer or an Only Representative for EU import. SABER/SASO is handled for Saudi Arabia where applicable.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply chlorinated solvents with CoA per batch, SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
