Butyl acetate (n-butyl acetate and iso-butyl acetate) is a medium-evaporation ester solvent with strong solvency and good flow, widely used in coatings. Buyers source it for paints, lacquers, and automotive refinish, printing inks, adhesives, and as a process solvent and flavour component. Its slower evaporation relative to ethyl acetate gives better flow, gloss, and levelling in higher-quality coating systems.
Grades commonly offered include technical/industrial n-butyl acetate (typically 99%+), iso-butyl acetate, and high-purity grades. CoA parameters usually quoted include assay by GC, water content (Karl Fischer), acidity as acetic acid, color (APHA), and non-volatile residue.
