About Brass Turned Components
Brass turned components are machined parts produced from brass bar and rod for plumbing, sanitary, electrical, gas, automotive and instrumentation use, including fittings, adaptors, nipples, inserts, terminals, valve bodies, sensor housings and connectors. Brass machines exceptionally well, allowing high-speed, high-volume production on bar-fed CNC and Swiss-type lathes with clean threads and fine finishes. General tolerances are usually specified to ISO 2768 (medium or fine), with critical features toleranced individually and capable production tolerances often around plus or minus 0.01-0.05 mm; series automotive and gas work commonly runs under an IATF 16949 system. The default material is free-cutting brass CuZn39Pb3 (CZ121 / C38500); low-lead and lead-free grades such as CuZn21Si3P (eco-brass) or DZR/CR dezincification-resistant brass (CZ132) are specified for potable-water and RoHS or drinking-water-regulation compliance, alongside naval and high-tensile brasses where strength or corrosion resistance demands. Surface finishes are typically bright as-machined, often around Ra 0.4-1.6 micrometre, with optional nickel or chrome plating, tin plating for electrical contacts, and passivation. Verification usually covers first-article, in-process SPC and CMM inspection, thread-gauge checks, plus pressure or leak testing for fluid-carrying and pneumatic parts. Through Himalay, partner manufacturers can supply EN 10204 3.1 material certificates where specified, first-article, SPC and dimensional reports, plating and leak-test records, RoHS/REACH and drinking-water-material declarations, and CE and SABER conformity routes for EU and GCC import; certification, inspection and CIF logistics are coordinated as part of the standard order flow.
