Amide Solvents
Amide solvents are high-boiling polar aprotic solvents such as dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethylacetamide (DMAc), and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), prized for dissolving polymers and enabling demanding chemistry. Buyers source them for pharmaceutical and agrochemical synthesis, polymer dissolution (polyimides, PVDF, aramids, spandex), electronics and lithium-battery electrode processing, and as reaction and process solvents. Their strong solvency for polar polymers makes them difficult to substitute in many high-tech applications.
Grades commonly offered include technical/industrial and high-purity/electronic and pharma grades. CoA parameters usually quoted include assay by GC, water content (Karl Fischer), color (APHA), acidity/alkalinity, and metal/residue limits for electronic grades. DMF, DMAc, and NMP are reprotoxic SVHC-listed substances under REACH, with NMP and DMF subject to restriction conditions, so end-use eligibility and exposure-limit compliance must be confirmed. HS classification is provided on shipping documentation.
Packaging is offered in around 190-225 kg steel drums, ~1000 kg IBCs, and ISO tanks for bulk; smaller packs serve high-purity grades. Bulk versus packed selection follows volume, grade, and regulatory eligibility.
SDS, CLP/GHS labelling, and ADR/IMDG documentation are coordinated where required, with REACH registration and restriction checks addressed via the manufacturer or an Only Representative for EU import. SABER/SASO is handled for Saudi Arabia where applicable.
Himalay's verified manufacturer and exporter partners supply amide solvents with CoA per batch, SDS, REACH/CLP compliance coordinated for EU, GHS labelling, and SABER for Saudi Arabia handled as part of the standard order flow.
