About Aerospace Bolts
Aerospace bolts are precision, high-integrity fasteners made to aerospace material and quality standards for airframe, engine, landing-gear and structural joints, where strength-to-weight, fatigue life and traceability are critical. They are produced under stringent process control with full lot traceability, and are typically governed by AS/NAS/MS and EN aerospace standards rather than commercial bolt standards. The category covers close-tolerance hex-head and 12-point (double-hex) bolts, shear and tension bolts, hi-lok and hi-lite pin systems, eye and clevis bolts and special airframe fasteners. Dimensional and performance requirements follow standards such as NAS, MS and AS specifications, with controlled grip lengths, radiused fillets and rolled threads after heat treatment for fatigue strength. Thread forms are precision UNJ/UNJF (controlled root radius) for fatigue performance. Materials are high-strength alloy steels (such as 4340 and H-11), corrosion-resistant stainless (A286, 17-4PH), titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) for weight saving and nickel alloys (Inconel) for hot sections. Coatings and finishes include cadmium (where still permitted), aluminium-based IVD, passivation and dry-film lubricants for controlled installation. Inspection is exacting: dimensional, NDT, hardness, tensile and fatigue verification under an aerospace quality system such as AS9100, with rolled threads, controlled fillet radii and surface treatments all verified against the governing specification before release. Himalay coordinates material traceability with full mill and heat-lot certificates, EN 10204 3.1/3.2 where applicable, NDT and mechanical test reports and country-of-origin documentation; AS9100 process discipline, export-control awareness and SABER routing for GCC entry are coordinated as part of the standard order flow, with scope confirmed case by case.
