Vehicle Switches
Vehicle switches are the operator and control interfaces that make, break or route electrical circuits in a vehicle: ignition and start/stop switches, combination steering-column stalks, window and mirror switches, hazard and lighting switches, pressure and temperature switches, and rocker, push-button and rotary controls. They serve OEM assembly, module integrators and the aftermarket across cars, commercial vehicles, buses, two-wheelers and off-highway machines. India's switch-manufacturing base offers EU and GCC buyers a competitive source across mechanical and electronic switch types.
Variants range from simple mechanical contact switches to electronic and Hall-effect or capacitive controls, and from single-function rockers to multi-function steering-column modules with integrated electronics. Key parameters include contact rating (current and voltage at 12 V or 24 V), number of poles and positions, actuation force and travel, illumination, sealing and connector/terminal type. Quality management is commonly aligned to IATF 16949, electromagnetic compatibility to UN/ECE R10, and environmental robustness to ISO 16750; electronic switch ICs and passives may carry AEC-Q qualification. Switch endurance is typically validated to a specified number of operating cycles.
Construction uses thermoplastic housings and actuators, silver or gold-plated contacts, snap-acting or membrane mechanisms, sealed boots or O-rings for IP-rated ingress protection, and tin- or gold-plated terminals. Tactile feel, detent and illumination are tuned to the cabin design.
