Spectrum Analyzers
Spectrum analyzers display signal amplitude versus frequency, letting engineers characterise RF and microwave signals, measure spurious emissions, occupied bandwidth, harmonics and noise, and support pre-compliance EMC work. They are core instruments for RF design, wireless and communications, broadcast, defence and EMC test, and are a specialised sourcing item for EU and GCC electronics manufacturers, test laboratories and distributors.
The family includes hand-held and portable analyzers for field and installation work and benchtop swept/FFT analyzers and real-time analyzers for laboratory use. Key specification parameters include frequency range (from a few kHz up to several GHz, and into tens of GHz on high-end units), resolution bandwidth (RBW) and video bandwidth, displayed average noise level (DANL), phase noise, amplitude accuracy and dynamic range. Safety is governed by IEC 61010-1; EMC under IEC 61326-1.
Construction ranges from rugged, often IP-rated hand-held housings with N or SMA inputs to benchtop instruments with precision attenuators and reference inputs.
