Signal Lamps
Signal lamps are the lighting devices used to communicate a vehicle's intentions and presence: direction indicators (turn signals), side-marker and side-repeater lamps, position and end-outline marker lamps, and hazard functions. They serve OEM assembly, module integrators and the aftermarket across cars, commercial vehicles, buses, trailers and two-wheelers. Indian manufacturing gives EU and GCC buyers a cost-competitive base for bulb and LED signal lamps built to UN/ECE type-approval expectations.
Variants include front and rear direction indicators, side repeaters, side-marker lamps and position/marker lamps, in bulb or LED form. Direction indicators are type-approved under UN/ECE R6, position/marker lamps under R7, and side-marker lamps under R91, with LED sources addressed under R128 and filament sources under R37; these regulations fix colour, intensity, flash characteristics and minimum illuminated area. Key parameters are function, colour (amber, red, white), photometric intensity, voltage (12 V or 24 V), flash rate compatibility and connector type. Electromagnetic compatibility falls under UN/ECE R10, quality under IATF 16949 and environmental robustness under ISO 16750.
Construction uses coloured or clear PMMA/PC lenses, metallised reflectors and light guides, PBT/PA housings, silicone or hot-melt sealing, breather vents and IP-rated sealed connectors to withstand spray, dust and vibration. LED versions integrate current regulation and, where needed, load-resistor or CAN-bus-compatible drivers to maintain correct flash behaviour.
