  • Respiratory Protection

Respiratory protection covers filtering facepieces, half- and full-face masks, filter cartridges and powered respirators that protect against airborne particulates, gases and vapours. It is critical Category III PPE in construction, woodworking, metal fabrication, pharmaceuticals, chemical processing and welding, and a closely regulated catalogue line for EU and GCC buyers.

The core European standard is EN 149 for filtering half masks, which grades disposable respirators FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 by filtration efficiency and inward leakage, with NR (single shift) or R (reusable) and optional D (dolomite clogging) marking. Reusable masks use EN 140 (half) and EN 136 (full) facepieces with EN 143 particle filters (P1/P2/P3) and EN 14387 gas/combined filters (types A, B, E, K and classes 1-3). Powered and supplied-air systems fall under EN 12941/12942 and EN 14594. The recognised North American framework is NIOSH 42 CFR 84 (N95/N99/P100), which buyers serving mixed markets often request alongside CE.

Filtering facepieces use multi-layer meltblown media with adjustable nose clips and head straps; reusable masks use silicone or TPE facepieces with bayonet or threaded filter mounts. Selectable options include exhalation valves, foldable or cup shapes, valved gas/combined filters, and sizing. Because respirators protect against risks of irreversible harm, they sit in PPE Category III with stricter conformity controls.

Himalay's verified manufacturer partners supply respiratory protection with test reports and certificates of conformity, CE marking under EU PPE Regulation 2016/425 (with notified-body type-examination where the category requires it), RoHS/REACH declarations on applicable components, and SABER (Saudi Arabia) coordinated as part of the standard order flow; batch traceability or third-party lab testing arranged where specified.
