Relays
Relays are electrically operated switches that let a low-current control signal make or break a higher-current load circuit, isolating control electronics from heavy loads such as lamps, motors, horns, fuel pumps and glow plugs. They serve OEM assembly, module and fuse-box integrators and the aftermarket across cars, commercial vehicles, buses, two-wheelers and off-highway machines. India's relay-manufacturing base gives EU and GCC buyers a cost-competitive source across mini, micro and power relay formats.
Variants include standard ISO mini and micro relays, plug-in and PCB-mount types, and configurations such as normally-open (SPST-NO), changeover (SPDT) and double-throw, with or without internal flyback diode or resistor. Key parameters are coil voltage (12 V or 24 V), contact rating (commonly 20-70 A), contact arrangement, terminal pattern (e.g. ISO 280/micro footprints) and ambient temperature class. Quality management is commonly aligned to IATF 16949, electromagnetic compatibility to UN/ECE R10 and environmental robustness to ISO 16750; the relay must endure a specified number of electrical and mechanical operating cycles. Solid-state and intelligent power switches are available from a subset of partners for high-cycle or PWM duty.
Construction uses a copper coil, soft-magnetic yoke and armature, silver-alloy contacts (often silver-tin-oxide for arc resistance), thermoplastic housing and tin-plated terminals, with sealed or dust-protected variants for harsh locations. Contact material and gap are chosen for the load type and inrush.
