Parking Sensors
Parking sensors are proximity-detection devices, usually ultrasonic, that measure the distance to nearby obstacles during low-speed manoeuvres and warn the driver through audible, visual or display feedback. They underpin parking-assist and reversing systems and serve OEM assembly, tier-1 module builders and the accessory aftermarket across cars, commercial vehicles, vans and buses. India's sensor and electronics base gives EU and GCC buyers a cost-competitive source for both factory-style and universal retrofit parking-sensor kits.
Variants range from OEM-matched bumper-flush ultrasonic transducers feeding a body-control module, to universal aftermarket kits with a control box, buzzer or LED/LCD display and four to eight sensors, plus camera-integrated and front-and-rear systems. Key parameters are detection range, number of sensors and zones, ultrasonic frequency, response time, output/interface (buzzer, display, CAN, RGB), voltage (12 V or 24 V system) and connector type. Quality management is commonly aligned to IATF 16949, electromagnetic compatibility to UN/ECE R10 and environmental robustness to ISO 16750; transducer and controller electronics may carry AEC-Q qualification. Paintable and colour-coded sensor faces are common for OEM-style fitment.
Construction uses a piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer in a sealed, paintable housing, a microcontroller-based control box, and IP-rated wiring harnesses and connectors to withstand spray, dust and thermal cycling. Sensor face geometry and damping are tuned for detection-zone shape and false-alarm rejection.
