When should I choose a globe valve rather than a gate or ball valve?

Choose a globe valve where you need throttling, flow regulation or frequent operation with tight regulating shut-off. The disc-on-seat geometry lets seating force build smoothly and tolerates partial opening, which a gate valve cannot. The cost is a higher pressure drop from the S-shaped flow path. If the duty is purely on-off isolation with minimal pressure loss, a gate or ball valve is more appropriate; if you must control flow, the globe valve is the right selection.

For small forged API 602 globe valves 1/2"-2", typical MOQ starts at around 25-100 pieces depending on manufacturer and configuration. Larger cast API 623 or BS 1873 valves 6" and above can be ordered in smaller runs of 5-15 pieces per size and material. Project orders built to a line list are accepted, and consolidating them into one specification package generally lowers the per-line minimum.

Are certified and low-emission globe valves available?

Yes, where specified. Partner manufacturers supply globe valves with API 598 or BS EN 12266-1 test certificates, fugitive-emission qualification to ISO 15848-1 or API 624 for the stem packing, and NACE MR0175 compliance for sour service. PED and SIL documentation is coordinated where the order requires it. Material and test certificates ship with the valve.

What body pattern and trim should I specify?

Straight-pattern bodies suit general regulating and isolation duty; angle and Y-pattern reduce pressure drop and ease piping in tight runs; stop-check variants protect boilers and pump discharges from reverse flow. Seat trim is selected to the duty, with 13Cr or Stellite facing for regulating and high-temperature service. Specify class, pattern, facing and whether throttling is required at inquiry so the trim and body are matched.

Full CIF to Rotterdam, Antwerp, Jebel Ali or Dammam is typically 8-12 weeks door-to-door for standard items, extending to 14-20 weeks for engineered specials with actuation or special metallurgy.
