Hearing Protection
Hearing protection covers earplugs, banded plugs and earmuffs that reduce noise exposure and the risk of noise-induced hearing loss. It is essential PPE wherever daily noise exposure approaches or exceeds regulated action levels, which under the EU Noise Directive begins at 80 dB(A), and is a standard catalogue line for EU and GCC industrial distributors.
The governing European standard is the EN 352 series: EN 352-1 for earmuffs, EN 352-2 for earplugs, EN 352-3 for helmet-mounted muffs, and further parts for level-dependent, active-noise-reduction and communication-enabled devices. Each product is tested for sound attenuation and marked with SNR (Single Number Rating) and the H/M/L (high/medium/low frequency) values so buyers can match attenuation to the measured noise spectrum without over-protecting. The recognised North American framework is ANSI/ASA S3.19 (and S12.6) test methods, reported as a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR).
Earplugs are offered in disposable PU or PVC foam, reusable flanged thermoplastic, and corded or detectable versions for food and pharma lines; earmuffs use ABS cups with foam or liquid-gel cushions and headband, neckband or helmet-mount fitments. Selectable options include SNR band, dielectric (non-conductive) construction, hi-vis colours, dispenser packaging and brand printing. For very high noise, dual protection (plugs plus muffs) is specified.
