  • Hand Protection

Hand protection covers the full range of industrial gloves that guard against mechanical, chemical, thermal and contamination hazards. It is the highest-volume PPE category by unit count, spanning construction, assembly, automotive, food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and general handling, and a core catalogue line for EU and GCC distributors.

The central European standard for mechanical risks is EN 388, which marks gloves with a string of performance levels for abrasion (0-4), Coup-test cut (0-5 or X), tear (0-4) and puncture (0-4), plus an ISO 13997 cut grade (A-F) and an optional impact grade (P). Chemical and microorganism protection is covered by EN ISO 374-1/-5, thermal and contact-heat by EN 407, cold by EN 511, and welding by EN 12477; the base requirements sit under EN 420 / EN ISO 21420. The recognised North American framework is ANSI/ISEA 105, which uses its own A1-A9 cut scale. Markings let buyers match the glove to the specific hazard rather than over-specifying.

Materials include nitrile, latex and PU coatings on knitted polyester, nylon or HPPE liners; cut-resistant yarns with steel or glass fibre; leather for general handling and welding; and unsupported nitrile, neoprene or butyl for chemical work. Selectable options include coating type and coverage, gauge, cuff style, grip texture, food-contact compliance, and colour or branding.

Himalay's verified manufacturer partners supply hand protection with test reports and certificates of conformity, CE marking under EU PPE Regulation 2016/425 (with notified-body type-examination where the category requires it), RoHS/REACH declarations on applicable components, and SABER (Saudi Arabia) coordinated as part of the standard order flow; batch traceability or third-party lab testing arranged where specified.
