Fuses
Fuses are sacrificial overcurrent-protection devices that interrupt a circuit by melting a calibrated element when current exceeds a safe level, protecting wiring and loads against short circuits and overloads. They serve OEM assembly, fuse-box and module builders and the aftermarket across cars, commercial vehicles, buses, two-wheelers and off-highway equipment. India's fuse-manufacturing base gives EU and GCC buyers a high-volume, cost-competitive source across the common blade and bolt-down formats.
Variants follow the standardised blade families defined by ISO 8820 and SAE J1284: standard (ATO/ATC), Mini (ATM), low-profile Mini, Micro2 and Micro3 for low-current circuits, and Maxi and bolt-down (Mega/AMG, Midi/ANL) for high-current and battery-side protection. Key parameters are current rating (commonly 1-40 A for blade types and up to several hundred amps for bolt-down), voltage rating (typically 32 V or 58/80 V for 24 V systems), interrupting/breaking capacity, time-current characteristic and colour coding. Quality management is commonly aligned to IATF 16949 and environmental robustness to ISO 16750; the time-current and breaking-capacity behaviour is verified to the relevant ISO/SAE method. Resettable PTC and thermal devices are available from a subset of partners.
Construction uses a zinc or copper-alloy fuse element, transparent or coloured polyamide housing for rating identification, and tin- or silver-plated blade terminals for low contact resistance. Element geometry is tuned to deliver the specified melting and clearing characteristic across the rated temperature range.
