About Fog Lamps
Fog lamps are auxiliary lighting units designed to improve visibility and conspicuity in fog, rain, snow and dust. Front fog lamps produce a wide, low, sharp-cut beam that reduces glare back-scatter, while rear fog lamps add a high-intensity red signal for detection in poor visibility. They serve OEM assembly, accessory fitment and the aftermarket across cars, commercial vehicles, buses and two-wheelers. Indian manufacturing offers EU and GCC buyers a competitive base for both halogen and LED fog lamps built to UN/ECE expectations.
Variants include halogen and LED front fog lamps and LED rear fog lamps, in surface- or bumper-mount housings. Front fog lamps are type-approved under UN/ECE R19 and rear fog lamps under R38, with LED light sources addressed under R128 and filament sources under R37; these regulations fix beam pattern, intensity and colour. Key parameters are function (front or rear), luminous output, colour (white/selective-yellow front, red rear), voltage (12 V or 24 V), beam cut-off and connector type. Electromagnetic compatibility falls under UN/ECE R10, quality under IATF 16949 and environmental robustness under ISO 16750.
Construction uses PC lenses with hard coats, metallised or faceted reflectors and light guides, die-cast aluminium or PBT housings for heat dissipation, silicone sealing, breather vents and IP-rated sealed connectors to resist spray, stone impact and thermal cycling. LED versions integrate constant-current drivers and heat-sinking for stable output.
Himalay's verified manufacturer partners supply fog lamps with test reports and certificates of conformity, CE marking under the relevant directives (EMC where applicable), RoHS/REACH declarations, and SABER (Saudi Arabia) coordinated as part of the standard order flow; UN/ECE R19/R38/R10 type-approval references and photometric test data are arranged where specified.
