EV Chargers
EV chargers supply controlled electrical energy to recharge an electric vehicle's traction battery, ranging from AC wallbox units to DC fast chargers. They manage power conversion, communication with the vehicle and safety protection in a single enclosure, and are central to the EU and GCC charging-infrastructure rollout that buyers source for fleets, real estate, retail sites and distributors.
Chargers are generally specified by AC versus DC, power rating (e.g. 3.7-22 kW AC single/three-phase, 30-360+ kW DC), connector standard, communication protocol and mounting (wall or pedestal). European-market units commonly use IEC 62196 Type 2 for AC and the CCS Combo 2 connector for DC fast charging, with high-level vehicle communication per ISO 15118 (including Plug & Charge) and back-office connectivity via OCPP. Safety and EMC reference the IEC 61851 charging-system series and IEC 61000/EMC requirements; CE under the Low Voltage and EMC directives is the typical EU route.
Construction includes a sealed IP54-IP65 enclosure (often IK-rated against impact), power electronics, RCD/residual-current and DC fault protection, metering (MID where billed) and user interface (RFID/app). Materials and ingress rating govern outdoor durability.
Options include load management/dynamic balancing, OCPP back-office integration, MID metering, cable or socket outlets and networked fleet management.
